Question Any way to delete the sample tracks in PTunes?

The sample tracks that were pre-loaded on my Pocket Tunes (Treo 755p) are driving me crazy. Is there any way to delete them? The device tells me I can't.

I'm talking about "Getting Started" and "Original" (Moodlex Sessions). Thanks for any input!

Where are you trying to delete them? From within pTunes? Try using a file explorer to view the files, then delete them that way.

Yeah, I tried that. The files are hidden somehow and don't show up anywhere in the Treo (I started with the AUDIO folder and then explored every other folder from there). I even opened the device as a USB drive on my PC with CardExport II to see if I could locate the files using Windows... but no luck.

Sounds like you're only looking on the SD card and not the internal memory.

Try using a program like Filez to look inside the internal memory.

That makes sense. I'll check out Filez and see if it works.

Thanks!

Well... that didn't work.

Filez is a great program, thanks for pointing me towards it. Unfortunately, it will not delete these stupid sample tracks because they are ROM based files. It just gives me an error telling me I can't delete ROM based files.

How lame is it that they made it virtually impossible to delete these silly 20 second samples of some corny techno tracks?

Seems you're right

On the 700p, 680 and 755p, these tracks are installed in ROM by Palm and cannot be removed by any program. If you need more information, please contact Palm directly.

Yeah, what a bummer. I only keep a couple of audio files (podcasts) on my Treo at any given time... so those 2 sample tracks make up about half my list. It's extremely annoying, to say the least.

But, I appreciate all your help! At least I found Filez.
