Versamail, not sync calender on 680

Is there a way to set up the versamail through my webmail, which uses exchange, to NOT sync my calender off my phone?

As far as the calendar not syncing, you can go into Hot Sync manager on your PC and customize your setups. You can set up the calendar conduit to "Do Nothing" (& and check "Set as Default").

(This assumes your are not a Mac person and not on a PC with Vista)

So I would have to set it up first on my PC instead of on my Versamail. Otherwise, when I first sync on my Treo, it will automatically sync the calender first correct?

I'm sorry, I think I misunderstood. Are you wanting to sync both your email & calendar (on the Treo) with email and calendar that is maintained on an Exchange server and not your personal PC?

No, I do not want to sync my calender on my phone at all. But as a first time setup, I can do it from my PC and/or phone. But the first time I do that, I don't want to sync the calender on my phone with my calender from my work email.

Side note, are there any recommendations for other email based systems besides xpress mail and get good?

If you're using Activesync to connect to the Exchange server then you need to either use Versamail or Chatter Email, although the later is no longer supported.

Actually it (Chattermail) is still supported, there just won't be any more major updates.

so i did some research and it looks like there's no way to use versamail and exchange activesync without syncing the email without calender and contacts. it's either email and calender or none at all. if that's the case, do you guys know of any email pda program that has a built in calender and contacts so i don't mess up my personal calender on my treo with my work email/calender?

There are many PIM replacement programs out there. Agendus is an example.

From all the research that I have done, it looks like there is nothing for what I'm looking for...

For a last ditch effort,
I'm looking for an email program for the PDA or a way to download my work email and not sync my personal contacts and calender. But from what I have found, it's either both email/calender and contacts OR nothing at all.

I'm willing to use a seperate email program that has it's own calender/contacts section and does NOT integrate into the treo's main calender/contacts if I cannot just download emails via exchange activesync.

Please advise.

Thanks
