Got my treo today. Very excited. Trying to get my email to work and having problems getting the settings right. Will have to call company in the morning.

I am also having problems setting up my versa mail. I am trying to connect to a personal e-mail, eg. sprintpcs.com. I keep getting an error. What am I missing here, VPN????? help!!

Thnks for your quick concern. I just went ahead and signed up with gmail and I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee it. I am in the process of transferring my contacts. I should be done in a couple of years!!

Nah, just kidding. Gmail was very helpful and even gave me a guid on how to set up my account for mobile.

I hope this is the right thread to get some info on a versamail error message that reads :"-ERR invalid user/password". This happens when i try to get any new messages from my email account. I've gone in many times to double check the user name and password for each account, and I can't figure out why versamail thinks i have the wrong info. I am using two yahoo accounts and one sbcglobal account.

I expect it's the Yahoo account it's failing on, if you haven't paid for their Mail Plus service then you will not have POP3 access i.e. you won't be able to access your mailbox via your Treo

Aha.... that makes sense. I'm wondering if gmail is going to do the same. I've read other posts saying it's very mobile friendly. Thanks for turning me in the right direction.

Gmail is very mobile friendly. Once you sign up, go to settings and enable POP3. Once there, you can find a tutorial on how to set up your account on your Treo/Smartphone. Very simple and very fun.
