Dial With Text as Default - Treo Forum

I lost my preferences recently... one of the only preferences I can't recall how to change is the way Phone dials. It wants to use the QWERTY keyboard only to type numbers to dial, but I had it set up so that the Phone application jumps to Contacts when I type, as the default. Is that somewhere buried in the phone's preferences, or did some third-party application do that?

i think i know what you're talking about. on my 650, it's under the main phone screen. menu -> general prefs ->highlight typing dials phone number and you'll see it gives you a choice between dialing and contacts search. and just as a hint, you might try backing up your stuff/ reset doctor will save your prefs and in it's in our store.

I got ResetDoctor today.

Finally found the preferences for the dialing... Here's where, for those with the 700p...
Phone app under the Options tab:
Phone Display Options
Typing starts contact search

Why is that a DISPLAY option? Odd, to me.
