Help with using 700P with DUN?

Probably a stupid question.... but here goes.....

Do I need a special cable to use the 700P with my laptop and DUN?

I have the sync and charge cable that came with the phone. I've installed the Palm desktop software and can sync the phone fine with my laptop.

I've installed the Sprint PCS Connection Software, but the software cannot find the phone. Since I previously used Verizon's connection manager, I tried that software for locating the phone with the same results....not found.

I do not have the PAM plan, I'm using the unlimited data plan with Power Vision. But, I'd like to try PDANet or the Phone Tether Hack just to see if the PAM would suit me better (my employer pays for the phone, so cost is not a huge factor).....

seems like i read something that said you just need the usb hotsync cable. can anyone else verify this?

You have to have PDANet installed and running on both your Treo and your laptop to get the connection to work. Works pretty well!
