Way to sync calendar over the air?

Has anyone come up with a FREE way to sync a calendar to a Palm Centro over the air (not hotsync, not corporate exchange server)?

For background: I have ADHD and I rely on my phone to alert me whenever I have a meeting for work if I am away from my desk. Our company uses Outlook, and we send appointments for all of our meetings. HOWEVER, our IT department won't let me setup my Centro to hotsync to my computer on my desk, or provide me with the settings needed to connect to an Exchange ActiveSync server, because it's my personal phone, not company owned.

Is there another (free) calendar service I can forward my meetings to that will sync over the air with my phone? I thought maybe google calendar might work, but so far I haven't been able to get that to work...

I don't care so much about email on my phone - I could take it or leave it - and I don't need instantaneous "push" type access, I'd just really prefer not to have to pay for it if I don't have to.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Do you know how to access your Outlook over the web? If so, then you're half way to setting up EAS.
