Exchange Active Sync

For more than a year I have attempted to create a functional Active Sync account on my Treo 650. The problem appears to be that Palm's ActiveSync software will not accept my MS Exchange Server's security certificate. My IT guy created our own certificate (we didn't shell out the big bucks for a commercial version) and it has worked very well for all other purposes. Has anyone else had a similar experience? If so, did you find a solution? I've contacted Palm's tech support and they keep telling me the next software update will fix the problem. It never does.

He might have to disable the security before getting you to work, as that is what had to happen with me. IT guys hate it, but its literally the way that Active Sync on the PalmOS had been implemented.

I do believe that once you do get a connection that they can start securiing the connection piece by piece without anything more additional than the security certificate and what all that is built into Active Directory, but its been a while since I have been in there and so I am not too sure on that part.

If you office uses Outlook Web Access, you might be able to use the web address to setup your Exchange Active Sync. And be sure SSL is checked.
