![]() | Thought I'd give the basement a shot with this one... Tried the forum; 35 views and no suggestions. Maybe too "lofty" a crowd up top..... In spite of my nearness to world domination, there is one thing which stands in the way. My 650 is not charging. In fact, the only place I've ever read someone else having the EXACT same problem is here. The "best answer" from the tech support person on that page is one I'm not willing to flatly accept, because people here do strange things to Treos, including opening them up with #5 Torx drivers. I don't know if this is hardware or hdwr/software related. There is definitely a hardware (electrical continuity) problem...... Anyone else have experience with this?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Have you checked the battery? Is the battery still able to take a charge? Check the connections between your battery and the Treo. Also, make sure that the power cord fits snuggly into the Treo. If that has all been checked, then there is faulty wiring afoot! |

![]() | Yeah, it's now looking that way. I think it's probably the solder cons at the brass plates inside the recharging port on the phone. Anyone got a #5 Torx? ![]()

![]() | Am I going to need more than a t5 to access the inside of the recharging port?

![]() ![]() | can't really remember. seems like there's a t6 in there somewhere, but i've got both motorola and palm internals going through my head right now. edit: ok, pete, i found a pdf with disassembly for the 650. t5 should be all you need. |

![]() | BRANDON !!! ............Yah Ha Ha !!! You ROCK !!! You've supplied the last stepping stone to my world domination thing; I'll split it with you for that PDF you sent! On an only slightly more specific note, it appears that the charging port is a MODULE !!!...........a module.....ha ha ha !!!.........no soldering. Check out the very last photo in the PDF. Might be able to simply snap another one in, and, I happen to have another one. ![]() *Is there any reason that anyone would own anything other than a Treo?*
