Bluetooth Software Engineer


Duties/Responsibilities:
The Bluetooth software engineer is responsible for designing and implementing/integrating application management and middleware support for upper layer protocols such as SPP, DUN, FTP, A2DP, HFP, HSP, PAN, within various handheld and smartphone products. The engineer should also be comfortable with the inner workings of the Bluetooth stack and be able to debug issues as they arise with the internal stack. The engineer will have full responsibility for the Bluetooth support within a given device.

Qualifications:
5-7 years experience

Skills/Experience:
2+ yrs of Linux programming (kernel programming a plus) - must be strong
Experience in C/C++ programming
Experience with Bluetooth protocol
Hands-on approach to software development

Education:
BS Computer Science or equivalent degree

They've been recruiting Linux engineers for over a year now, which means they are either going to use Access's ALP, which is of course Linux based, or they are developing their own Linux based OS.

It seems most likely to me that Palm is looking for Engineers with Linux experience to develop applications and/or components on top of ALP.
