![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Treo Folio Information Leaked Apparently last night there was a slip up at Palm, and someone posted information on the upcoming Palm Folio. Stated to be a Mobile Companion product, the Folio is a compliment to the smartphone and will allow users to edit documents, surf the web, etc on a larger screen with a "full size" keyboard. This device will be the first to run the Linux based OS, and is reported to be available this summer for $499 after a $100 rebate. More info as it becomes available. Feel free to add. I've already got my money saved ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Just been watching the webcast, seems neat but probably not a high volume seller Key points are it will sync with your Treo so all your emails will appear on both devices. It will automatically transfer your mail settings from your Treo OS is Linux based which should help with third party developer support. Keyboard is full sized and the screen runs at a resolution of 1024 x 600. Expansion consists of an internal Compact Flash slot and a SD slot on the side. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in and there's a USB port and video out port on the side. Being solid state it's instant on and switching apps is pretty much instant. Designed to work with both PalmOS and WM Treo's but more importantly should support other brands of Smartphone too. Opera provide the browser and Data Viz the office tools.

![]() ![]() | ok, this is what i understand. it syncs with your treo and basically you have a treo the size of a small laptop. is there a hard drive contained on the foleo itself or does it share memory with the treo, like an extension of the treo? i'm a little confused. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Its all NVFS like our Treos, and the memory can be expanded using a CompactFlash card. Once you set it up with your Treo (or other smartphone) it stays synced. Changes on one device are reflected on the other. Pair this with the MyPalm beta site, and things start looking pretty good. I can see the MyPalm site going to a Palm Desktop replacement with OTA sync.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Looking at this photo on Endgadget, it looks to have something like 126 M of built in memory.
