why is it that everyone says that Palm invented or made the first sucessful PDA, this isn't true it was actually PSION who got the ball rolling. Just because it was a small British company it tends to get overlooked. Of couse PSION stopped producing hardware and concentrated on software which is now known as Symbian

i think he was referring to the first massively popular pda, taz. in the states, i never seen a psion, only palms. not to say that they don't work, mind you, just that over the pond here, palm basically cornered the market.

Yes I understand and except that but the statement should be prefixed with "In the US....". What makes it worse is this was said not by Ed but by the BBC reporter so therefore British and working for a British TV station

Here's a brief history of PSION, as you can see the original Organiser came out 12 years before the Palm Pilot in 1984

The series 3, which is closer to what we now call a PDA, came out in 1991 still 5 years before the Pilot.

It's also interesting to note that EPOC, the forerunner to Symbian, had true multi-tasking way back in 1998
