Overview:



Palm is looking for an experienced Senior Whitebox Test Engineer to lead our technical testing effort on an exciting new product. This is an opportunity to join a world-class team, and to build cutting edge products. This individual will be working in a highly collaborative environment, partnering with development and marketing peers to deliver an outstanding product. The person filling this position must be a hands-on, pro-active, self-motivated seasoned coder with strong initiative and a desire to succeed in a challenging environment requiring multi-tasking.

Duties/Responsibilities:



· Mentoring and training white box and development engineers in quality engineering best practices

· Providing planning and leadership for the technical testing effort

· Analyzing current test efforts for effectiveness

· Writing and debugging C language test programs

· Developing driver and hardware validation and performance tests

· Writing and tracking bugs





Qualifications:



· Minimum 6 years experience in software test

· Minimum 3 years whitebox test or software development experience

· Experience testing embedded systems





Skills/Experience:



· Outstanding software debugging skills

· Programming background in C or C++ with embedded system experience

· Good understanding of various SQA methodologies and software development practices

· Excellent communication skills

· Experience shipping consumer products, preferably hardware/software

· Possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills

· Experience with multiple operating systems including Linux a plus





Education:



· B.S. or equivalent experience





Travel:



· No travel required for this position
