ever had a problem with the charger/ chargeing? - Treo Forum

hi there.. i am new here, and so far i love all the great info i have come across! thanks!
but i am having an issue with my 700wx.. when you plug the charger into it it won't charge.. u have to wiggle the cord a whole bunch... and so i thoght it was the cord, but my i used my sis's cord and the same thing... any idea what it could be?

Faulty socket on your Treo sounds the most likely cause

Do you have a cradle for it?

Welcome to Treonauts, twinynumber2!
Palm devices are pretty notorious for this problem. Likely, as Taz said, it's the charging port. This issue has been discussed here at Treonauts at length, and it appears that the fix choices are basically either to solder a new port to the board, or purchase a charger and keep a spare battery or two around.

thanks for the help.. no i don't have a cradle.. but i am headed to the sprint store here in a little bit.. i have insurance, is this something that is covered?

Yes, they will cover that. If they can't fix it, they will give you a replacement.

The neat thing about the Palm cradle is it has a compartment in the back for charging a seperate battery as well as the one in the Treo

That is awesome!!! Don't forget to back up what you have so that you can put some of the information back on your new phone. Are you getting a w/x? or the same w?
