![]() | Centro Vs 755p. Is Centro really better? I have been searching craigslist for a Centro, since my 650 is apparently dead beyond repair, and I am not due for an upgrade from Sprint anytime soon. There aren't too many Centros for sale used, and they ones that are, are priced so high that I am almost better off buying a new one for $400 with a warranty. I did happen upon a 755P, brand new in box, for $150 with a clean ESN. Obviously this a good deal, but I am wondering if I should just hold out for a Centro. My father has had good luck with his 700p, but I have known a few people that have had nothing but problems with their 755/700s, and I don't think I can get warranty on a used phone. Plus, If I am not mistaken, google maps still does not work on the 755p, and I am not too interested in spending another 50-200 bones for GPS navigation. At least on the centro I can get some directions quick and easy, rather than having to use the web and do a mapquest search. So, is the Centro REALLY a better built machine, or is it just a smaller Treo with the same problems? Does the 755 really have as many problems as I am hearing/reading, or are they over exagerated? In other words, would you buy a 755 knowing that no insurance from Sprint was a possibility (although, I think sprint still does that $50 replacement with no warranty?). BTW, I do have large fingers, but from the 15 minutes I spent with the Centro the keyboard wasn't a problem.. although I felt much more comfortable on my 650s. Thanks in advance. |

![]() | Please get the 755....I was "upgraded" to centro from 755 and miss the 755 very much! It is slower and has had more repair issues. If you are a light user you will be OK...but if you use it regularly and use all the outlook/desktop functions...you will like 755 better |

![]() ![]() | I do not own the Centro (really don't like the "youthful" look and feel they went for with it). It just felt too light and didn't look very business-like. I have small hands/fingers and the smaller keyboard wasn't my cup of tea. I was a 650 user for many years before moving to the 755p upon its release in May 07. Google maps/GPS is not a necessity for me, so I can't speak to that, but I can tell you I've had no (zero, zip, nada) problems with the 755. It's been a very stable device and has the feel of a real phone, to me - not light and "plastic-y". I've even gone from the 755 on Sprint to a different 755 (w/ Alltel) when my company changed carriers and both phones have been excellent w/ no issues. |

![]() | That is a really solid comparison of pretty much everything spec wise, not only of the Centro vs 755p but the 650 and 680 as well to give a nice little bow on the PalmOS line of phones. |
