Angry Finally did it

Well...this may not come as a suprise to some Treo owners but I am finally Treo free.

I was a very loyal 650 owner for many years but when that phone broke (It was my fault) I "upgraded" to a new version.

I put up with the occasional hicups and would faithfully reboot my phone when that happened. I did all the upgrades recommended and made excusses when I could not dial out or when I missed an occasional call.

When I finally lost it was when the phone would decide to shut down by itself and I would miss a lot of business. To restart my Treo I would need to do a memory clear and re sync all my information.

Before someone asks, I DID NOT have any third party software. This was a stock Treo.

I am retiring my Treo to my kids (All they do is text) becouse I could no sooner sell this to someone else and have them experance the same problems I had.

It was a good run, but there are now better products out there.

Please do not think of this as a dig on the Treo but one person's experence.

did you install the audio update or update to wm6? What device did you migrate from - a palm os treo? Did you contact AT cingular customer service and ask for a new 750? What about keeping your memory freed up by clsoing programs? You know the x does not close a program like your laptop or desktop would. I have had a 750 since February and experienced very few problems. The only programs I have added on besides the wm6 update are my laridian pocket bible which I havent been without since the palm IIIc and sprite backup and Franklin Covey Plan Plus for Outlook which I have also used since the days of pocket pc through the 60 and 650 and now 750.

This post really breaks my heart. In every product line, there is always a problem here or there. It is too bad that Alan had all that aggrivation. I love my treo. Sorry he did not have the same experience. It is sad to be losing you Alan. I hope you make it back here one day, as a happy treonaut.

Yes on the audio patch and daylight savings update, no on wm 6.

I went from a Palm OS (a unlocked/unbranded 650 that I loved) to wm5.

I would run only one program at a time - yes, I am very much aware that x would not close applications- I learned that the first time I brought up the memory application and saw what was running.

My main issue was with the phone. Dropped calls, missed calls, keypad freezing up and finally the "turning itself off" bit.

Yes, I did ask AT&T for a replacement but all they had was refurbished. I did not want to take a chance on someone else's problem.

Thank you for your imput - BTW - I was intruduced to the Laridian pocket Bible by some friends - great product - love the search -but I am a bit old fashioned and prefer my old NIV
