![]() | Is there such a thing as an external antenna for a Treo? My company is about to bless us with the phone, to be used to submit field reports, etc. Being up here in mountainous New Hampshire, I was having greatproblems with a laptop equipped with a Sprint Aircard until I located an external antenna for the aircard on eBay. Best 34.95 I ever spent. But now they want to go to the Treo...Any sources for getting out better?? ![]() |

![]() | external antenna Yes you can get a Treo antenna adapter and a cell phone amplifier and an external antenna. See my other post under Treo 755 topic for Cyfre cell phone amp. I suppose you can also hook the adapter directly to an antenna, but I highly recommend the amp as it is low cost and does a great job. Note tha the adapters match the Treos and "one size does not fit all" so you will have to specify. Also the type of antenna you need depends on whether you are line of sight to a cell phone tower, or not, or want a car antenna. All this stuff is available on eBay. I can recommend a eBayer if you need. |

![]() | Yes, Please post! Yes, please post me the ebayer you use.. I may get one for my personal cell, a 650, to check it out. I don't yet know the model they'll be sending me..although I'm pretty sure it will be the Windows model, not the palm model. ![]() With the hills up here, I'll probably want to get a car antenna. (Although checking out the others might not be a bad idea, the coverage up here is spotty at best!) Last edited by davkbod; 08-16-2007 at 11:07 PM. |

![]() | Treos have a rubber plug on the upper corner opposite the stylus. carefully remove it to expose the external antenna jack. I got a trucker antenna for my Treo 600 and it did nothing to improve reception unless the mast raised the antenna into view of a cell Tower. My ham friends say that the bigger external antena doesnt really help @ cell frequency's used. The amplifier might be useful. Try your phone without the external first. |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | I live in a valley that has no cell phone coverage. I get fair coverage by driving up the valley road even though the nearest tower is not close. My service provider is AT&T if that's pertinent. A friend has a blackberry (gasp) and she can get very faint/intermittent service at my house. My question is - does anybody know about using a *wireless* Wilson signal booster with a Treo? Is there any info that I should know about Wilson amps? Also there are some other brands of amplifiers available. Anybody got experience with them? What's the scoop? |
