sent messages appear in both chat thread and Sent Folder?

upgrading from a Treo 600, i noticed one difference regarding SMS messages and chat thread.

In my Treo 600, I noticed that sent messages that appear in the chat thread are already removed from the Sent folder.

but, in the Treo 680 (maybe also in the Treo 650), the sent messages appear both in the chat thread and in the Sent folder. so, the sent messages keep accumulating in the Sent folder.

is there are way to configure the Treo to make the sent messages just appear in the chat thread? That way, it would be easy to do some housekeeping on my messages.

The way its set up is kinda weird, but it helps save space. When you send a message it gets stored in the sent folder, and when you receive one it gets stored in the inbox. If you reply to a message your Treo starts it as a chat session. Even though you have all of these folders your sent messages are only stored in one place, just displayed in several.

Here's a for instance. You have a chat session going, and decide to delete all of your sent messages. When you do this, all of your replies are deleted from the chat session as well. Make sense?
