![]() | I need to pick a Treo! Very confused-need advice I am in the process of choosing a Treo(or Centro?) I am ok with technology, but no 'techie" and I have always carried the separate phone and Palm. Since I needed a new cell phone, I decided it is time to merge. I have T-Mobile as a carrier and I do not wish to change that. I will need to purchase an unlocked phone that can work with my carrier. I have been looking at the 650 or 750. Here is the issue-do I want OS or Windows? I basically need to sync with my Outlook calendar and make calls, but I do use Word, Excel and PowerPoint for work. I want the Outlook synching to be pretty simple to do. I would also like to have the option to connect to e-mail/internet, but I do not need it. I am using my 13 year old's phone so I need to pick a Palm phone of some kind soon! Any advice would be appreciated. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think the last Palm phone that T-Mobile carried was the 600, so you'll have to buy an unlocked AT&T Palm device (either a 755p or a Centro for Palm OS, or a Treo Pro or 700wx). I think both operating systems will sync with Outlook, but the Winmob devices are using the same OS. Both OSs have Office DTG, both have the ability to connect to email. So, my recommendation would be to check out these phones and see if you like one phone or OS better. You might also want to check with T-Mobile to ensure there aren't any glitches activating an unlocked phone.

![]() ![]() ![]() | kymccc, a warm welcome to treonauts! Sounds like you may want to seriously consider the windows mobile choices. I love my 700wx, but am needing more memory. May I suggest the Pro? There is a GSM version available. They are really easy to use with outlook, word etc. Whatever you choose, good luck, and welcome again. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The Treo Pro may be the best bet for you kymcc. New Palm OS choices are pretty limited now, on the GSM side (T-Mobile or AT&T) you've got the Centro, and possibly the 680 if you look on ebay. Treo Musketeers is a little off in his recommendations, because some of them are CDMA (755p for Verizon and Sprint, 700WX for Verizon and Sprint). It's also pretty unlikely you'll find a Treo 750 new, however, there are plenty on ebay used. The Treo Pro is still available new from Palm, and again there are lots of sellers on ebay. A number of users, including several Mods on this forum have the Pro and have been singing it's praises. You'll be able to sync email (and callendar, contacts, etc) with Outlook on both OS's. Both offer Office Document compatibility. I personally prefer Windows Mobile, but that is likely because I use Windows on a daily basis, and WM on at least a monthly basis now, but if you're used to Palm OS, and if you have Palm OS software you require, it may make the most sense to go that route. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I would tend to agree very much bc I own one. I only wish that I had the sprint treo pros added memory and faster processor!! |

![]() | Wow, i'm in this exact situation.. Except i'm on Verizon and I want a data plan. So the Treo Pro would be the best option? I just reactivated my account with Verizon... I am using my old 650, but i'd like to upgrade if possible. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my 650, but I think it's time to upgrade for sure and give this one to my younger brother. Anyways, I'd like wifi, touchscreen etc as well as all the old apps and options on my 650. What is the fastest OS right now? And what palm has the best hardware with all these options? thanks in advance |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Welcome to treonauts!Verizon does not have a version of the treo pro. VZN and Palm have kind of been on the outs for a while but alltel did release a version of the treo pro for cdma before their merger/acquistion with/by VZN so if you can find an alltel treo pro it should in theory wotk on VZN I would think. I would talk with VZN and verify before you buy. |

![]() | Also in the market for a treo Hi all, I'm new to Treonauts. Here's my situation: I'm on Verizon, and I want a smartphone for the organizer, ability to sync with my computer, but I can't afford the obligatory data plan for the BB and HTC devices. Any suggestions which Treo I should buy? Also worth mentioning, I think: I run a 64 bit version of Windows Vista, but I might be dual booting my computer with Windows 7 soon. Would the Treo have compatibility issues with either of those operating systems? So far I was considering the Treo 755 and the 700 w/wx. What is the main difference between the w and wx? |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Welcome Zack! The 700wx has more memory than the w. I do know that it can sync w/64 bit vista. Let me know if you get one. Good luck with your decision. |
