A Treonaut's Christmas

‘Twas the night before Christmas, most Treonauts were home,
Not a creature was stirring, not even the phone.
The stockings were hung by the charger with care,
in hopes that St. Treolas soon would be there.

Devices were nestled all snug in their cradles,
with hopes of new updates soon to ladled.
And mama in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
had just checked with “Garmin” to look at the map.

When out from the Forum there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the TV to see what was the matter.
Away to the PC I flew like a flash,
tore open the Treo Store and laid out some cash.

The sight of the glowing of the new-est of phones,
gave the luster of mid-day to objects be-moaned.
When before wondering eyes there appeared, just like midgets,
the DELAYED NEW SAGUARO! AND THIRTY ONE WIDGETS!

With a dashing young programmer still checking out data,
I knew in a moment it must still be in beta.
More rapid than eagles his curses they came,
and he whistled and shouted and called them by name.

“Now, Trinky! Now, Treoe! Now, Tomi and Timmy!
On, Aldy, On, Damnphone!, On, Stupid and Chauncey!
To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”

As swear words that before the moderators fly,
when they navigate controls that mount up to the sky.
So over to the forum the cursors they flew,
with a tray full of memory, some screwdrivers too.

And when in a reset I heard such a crash.
the Android was coming and taking our stash.
While phantoms of “G-Phones” were still floating around,
thank Goodness St.Treolas came in with a bound!

He was dressed in fine plastic from his head to his foot,
his casings all tarnished with scratches and soot.
A bundle of printouts he had flung on his back,
he looked like a hacker just opening his hack.

His keys how they twinkled! His charge-lights how merry!
His screen was so shiny, his Bluetooth a cherry!
His cute little “soft-keys” drawn up like a bow,
he had what he needed, but his memory was low.

With leaks of top secrets held tight in his teeth,
the encryptions encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little square belly,
that sparked when he laughed like an old fashioned telly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old phone,
and I laughed M.A.O. even though quite alone.
A wink of his light and a push of the button,
soon told me he knew I was really a glutton.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
installed the new software then turned with a jerk.
And tapping his stylus on top of his screen,
he gave a quick reset, up the chimney he beamed.

He sprang to his sleigh, Windows apps. suite revamping,
he hoped Palm wouldn’t be caught again napping.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
HAPPY CHRISTMAS DEAR TREONAUTS! To all a good night!

With all the new things coming out in the new year,it may be necessary to redo next December with a 2008 update version.
