Nevertheless, she needs a new phone and I'll probably have her on our plan for the next couple of year, or until her residency. I'm still wondering if it is worth it ... even at $45 if I have to commit to another 2 year hitch? (maybe I should opt for an unlocked model on ebay?) One benefit is that Yahoo users get sync improvements, including the calendar. Another feature being waited for that is improved sms messaging ... particularly forwarding and copying of messaging.

Currently for me, the breaking of MyTether is a loss ... although word has it that it is being fixed as quickly as possible. I hope it returns as it has saved me by adding a portable wifi access point several times and on several different computers.

Backup

* Backup now includes browser cookies, so that after a restart, for example, if you stored your username and password on a web-based email site, you can continue to access the site without needing to log in.
* Backup no longer saves online account passwords. If you perform a partial or full erase or buy a replacement phone, after signing in to your Palm profile, you are prompted to enter the password for each of your online accounts. If you choose to skip this step, to continuing synchronizing this account, you must open an app that syncs with the account (Calendar, Contacts, Email) > application menu > Preferences & Accounts > tap the account name > enter your username and password.

Calendar

* Yahoo! now appears as a Calendar synchronization account. You can synchronize Yahoo! calendar events by opening Calendar > application menu > Preferences & Accounts > Add An Account > Yahoo!
* An event’s location now appears with the same formatting in Day view and in the event notification.
* Calendar notifications no longer reappear after being dismissed.

2. Transfer my apps AND their accompanying data, using Classic to run 'em.
3. Back up the Pre on my desktop, not on some "cloud".

(I'm not sure but it may have stopped automatically checking too -- set for one hour. The SMS rings just fine.

I've reset the switches (image below), but they were correctly "on" ... next step is to do a soft reboot and see what happens. Anybody else?

I am need to know if I can transfer my contacts and the attached notes to the Pre. I have all the directions to my clients in the notes and this is a deal breaker for me as I work as a Vet and my memory can fade at 3 am!

Is a 1GB monthly Data plan going to do for mainly email, some web surfing?
Love the Centro but never bothered using web as got it Sim Free from Palm, as not supported by Carriers here in Ireland, and didn't bother with data plan.

It was time to upgrade my daughter's Centro. It was 2.5 years old and finally the hardware started to go. I went in to the Sprint Store and purchased her a Pre while she was in school.

I put her Pre on the touchstone in her room and left it for her to find. I figured after my sleep I would teach her the ins and outs of the Pre. When I awoke, I went to greet her. I asked her if she had any questions. "No" she said. I took the Pre and looked at what she had done.

She "dragged and dropped" music, installed pandora, set her alarms and was already texting. I asked her how she figured it out and she stated that she read the manual and was just playing with it. It is funny because when i was at the Sprint Store, a lady bought a Pre and turned it back in because it was difficult and she didn't like it. PATIENCE!!!

Well, since there is a Pre in the house I have a lot of learning to do. With the little time I've had with it I will say that it is one beautiful sleek device.

One little problem I have noticed is that the Network Is Disconnected comes up a bit. Must be something with the new update. I haven't had time to figure it out yet. In silent mode, it would just vibrate, leaving her in doors undisturbed as I haul myself out of bed for work.

The Pre doesn't seem to have the same functionality.

When in silent mode, an alarm still activates with a tone, why? Is there any way around this?
